Adam McKay's: old source / ataraid.o for 2.4.2-2

Hey, I got RH7.1 installed and working, and I want to move to the araraid
drivers. I used Adam McKay's exteremely useful post,
https://listman.redhat.com/pipermail/ataraid-list/2001-October/000237.html.
I got as far as:

6) Couldn't get lilo to work when the device was changed, so copied
ataraid.o and pdcraid.o (2.4.2-2BOOT versions compiled on a separate fresh
RedHat 7.1 install from *old* ataraid source ? which I later found out I
didn?t have to do since add_gendisk and del_gendisk are apparently trivial
to add) onto driver disk, booted off CD-ROM as a normal install, but typed -
expert ide1=0xd000,0xd402 ide2=0xd800,0xdc02 - at the boot prompt (this will
vary depending on machine).

But I'm confused as to how he compiled ataraid.o against the kernel on the
CD. I've tried many different ways. Is there an old version of the source
hidden away somewhere? I get add_gendisk and del_gendisk as missing
identifiers, along with GFP_NOIO. I read in an earlier post that GFP_BUFFER
or something was changed to GFP_NOIO. In any case, is there a version of the
source around that does compile against 2.4.2-2 without any problems? I
can't find one. Or easier, if you're reading this, Adam McKay, did you save
your ataraid.o and pdcraid.o files (if they're compiled for athlon or lower
with standard options, ie. would work on my computer)? If you could mail
those to me (hattemer@xxxxxxx) or if someone could tell me where to find
drivers that can be compiled against 2.4.2-2BOOT, I would be very happy.
Thank you very much

-Eric Hattemer
