Arjan and I had an exchange on Saturday off-list. Here's a recap of our
conclusions:

When the Promise BIOS loads, I am told my config is

	ID MODE
	1* 1+0 Span

Which apparently means I am using a RAID mode which Arjan's driver does not
support. End of ataraid story I guess, since at that point Arjan lost interest
in me ;-)

As far as I can tell I'm going to be without the data on this array for some
time, unless I physically rip the device out and place it into an older redhat
box. I would be happy to downgrade to the kernel in RH7.1 and simply insmod
Promise's ft.o driver, but that kernel would not be able to access all the ext3
filesystems I migrated to during the upgrade.

So basically it looks like I shot myself in the foot royally here. Must I
really resign myself to waiting for Promise to release a ft.o which works on
RH7.2?

Thanks for any assistance.
