I have been using the Promise drivers on 2.2.19 but I have been trying
to get a driver working in the 2.4 kernels. The Promise drivers for the
RedHat 2.4 kernels have been unstable for me, possibly because I have 2
arrays on one card or too many scsi adapters? My arrays are sdc and
sdd. Any I tried this new open source driver but the full message I get is:
init_module: Operation not permitted
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
Note I have to set append="ide2=0 through ide9=0" in lilo.conf or else
the kernel hangs on booting, does this have something to do with it?
