Today I got my new Fasttrak (based on Promise's promise of cooperation)
and 2 IBM 40Giggers. I set up mirroring, and installed 7.1 w/ the
Promise supplied drivers.
Naturally, I was in a pretty big hurry to get something a bit more
modern than 2.4.2, and having heard ac kernels include Fasttrak support,
I grabbed 2.4.12-ac1. The good news is, it _appears_ to work just fine.
Thanks to e2label, I only had to modify the swap line in the fstab,
and now the system is up and running. This makes me Very Happy. (tm)
However, based on my browsing the mailing list archives and what
documentation there is, I'm a little worried - am I playing with fire
here? ;-) Raid-1 support sounds like it's sketchy at best...
What I'd _like_ to hear is 'hey, if you've gotten that far you're in
great shape'. Otherwise, I'll just report back in a few weeks with
'still works for me' or whatever.
regards,
David
