Hi, It's working now. I'm using 2.4.9-ac15. I went through 'make config' and enabled all Promise drivers and support for VIA chipset and now it just works. I have tried a couple of 'cat /proc/kcore > <some file>' on both an ext2 and reiserfs filesystem without getting hde: read interrupt status=0x58 yada yada. Morten
