Ok...
I hope I don't get flamed for this... I understand the drivers supplied by Highpoint Technologies on their website are ?porpriatery?... but I was hoping someone would recommend something for me. Here is my story:
I'm building a computing cluster at my school and I've got an Abit KG7-RAID board with the on-board hpt370 controller. I installed RH7.1 with little difficulty, following the instructions provided by highpoint and their modules hpt370.o ...
but after rebuilding kernel 2.4.9 with MOSIX and a few other mods along with the modification to ide-pci.c as instructed by highpoint and after copying hpt370.o to the new directory the kernel will not boot saying it can't mount / !!! what have I done wrong and what's the easiest way (as I go back to school in January I will not be able to maintain this cluster for very long ) of maintaining the kernel while keeping the hpt370 controller for root?
Thanx,
Mike
