RE: Hacked LILO file corrupted?!

Who here has experience setting up grub to boot a root device from
/dev/ataraid? I have it setup to use this configuration:
root = (hd0,3)
kernel=/vmlinuz-2.4.8-5devfs root=/dev/ataraid/disc0/part2

When it gets done loading the kernel, I get:
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

This is the error I've been getting all the time with lilo and grub, and I
do not know how to resolve this, apparently the raid partition is not being
seen for root specification? If someone has seen this or know what's wrong,
please do tell.

Thanks.

You do not need a hacked lilo to boot from the array, just use grub. If
you downloaded the file with linux it is maybe already decompressed,
just make a "more lilo...", if you see plain text just untar it.

Greetings Helge.
