Oh - I should've mentioned - we've done so.  We've also checked
everything else we could think of, in every different way we
could think of, and we're quite sure we've narrowed it down to
the cards.

(The clincher for us was the fact that every combination of
cable and drive with a CMD648 based controller didn't give us
corruption, and every combination of cable and drive with a
Fasttrack100 controller did give corruption.)

Who would I contact about that?  (I haven't been able to find a
"linux-ide" list or the like...)
