Sorry to chime in here but Amr, you may find this interesting also.
How does libss7 scale against chan_ss7? Are there any current
dimensioning tests?

As we all know, Asterisk SIP dimensioning documents are plentiful
vs SS7+Asterisk load tests. I did find this study:

http://www.google.com/url?q=https://sip.cesnet.cz/_media/swahw/asterisk_ss7_performance_testing.pdf%3Fid%3Dcs%253Aswahw%253Ass7%26cache%3Dcache&sa=U&ei=WFDEUdGwLfap4APdiICICQ&ved=0CBgQFjAA&sig2=X6Jcqv-Fh-ueGBW_N81vhw&usg=AFQjCNEcz4HLkTez-PgxZ9MPJlzuF3Cqyw

The paper outlines one of the stack's advantages over the other when it comes
to conformance and performance. The paper is dated 2007, and not how much
has changed since then.

Input greatly appreciated,

Nick
