generates 1000 Hz interrupts per span, not per channel. And TDMoE spans
using SS7 don't have the 24 or 31 channel limitation.

Slightly off the original question, but does CAS (robbed bit) signaling do
the same?

Our recent tests indicated that CAS created about 7500-8000 interrupts for
15 spans CAS and one PRI. that would be 24 X 15 or 360 channels, plus a PRI
with 23 channels.

The belief/specs were that the processor could handle about 12-14,000
interrupts per second, so 15 spans were fine, but we shouldn't go too far
past that.

Any comments on that?
