Ok, i have verified to which port the cable is connected. It is the
lower port. Furthermore they told me, that the upper LED is dark and the
lower is blinking.

Can anybody explain how the status of the LEDs are to be interpreted ?

Currently i am suggesting that Span 1 is on the upper port and Span 2 is
on the lower port.
