If everything is installed, the group must exist. As already mentioned
by Joakim, you still need to add your user to the group.

The limits.conf file should be located
in /etc/security/limits.d/99-realtime-privileges.conf .

However, it unlikely would solve the issue, since you already enabled
the required privileges by the group of the user.

LMMS is not the kind of software I ever used.
