Try in an incognito window and if it works, delete the site's cookies.

Though I had tried 3 different ways earlier -- it must have been a
page-cache issue or something similar. After your e-mail, before switching to
incognito mode, I decided to just try one more time after changing my
preferences back to the 2022 template -- and switching to dark-mode worked
just fine.
The browser Gods were toying with me tonight.... It seems they like to see
me suffer as of late :)
