So, I have checked my WiFi card via the command here:
https://github.com/albfan/miraclecast/blob/master/res/miracle-utils.sh#L112
it seems to not support P2P mode nor commands.

Are those required for connecting to a Miracast device?

I am not sure about that, a quick Internet search was inconclusive.

All I can tell you is that my WiFi card, which worked with Miracast, supports the following P2P modes: [ P2P-client, P2P-GO, P2P-device ].
