Correct, both /dev/sda and /dev/nvme0n1 are normal devices and parted
can handle both.

The others are not really block devices expected to be dealt with using
parted (or equivalent programs).

You made me curious: is there any documentation on this? I was under the impression that nvme was just another (storage) interface and that EFI partitions were just fat32 partitions.

Now it sounds like there is something special going on with nvme and efi?
