Yes, it is working on my current Debian installation. But there
I have the benefit of networkmanager setting it up automatically.

It seems that usb_modeswitch is not activated during the
arch_boot installation, so I am looking at that and then I must
see if I can get wvdial to work. It is a bit of a hassle with
no guarantee of success, so if you have any other suggestions,
I am all ears.

I think there are quite a number of people who only have usb
modem connections, especially in remote or rural areas, and so
it would be nice if the arch installation was a little more
inviting to us.
