I looked into this a bit more, and it looks like this was not an upstream change. Rather, it was removed in Arch in this commit: https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-packages/commit/9ca7c019fe8f59505cf1f6dc4163e146f3e777a7#diff-8d0411b338c83cd8cd8ad9d9db127101
