That one worked. Renamed the recent profile in .config/libreoffice/4 and voila Libreoffice went back to service. Had to reinstall all the extensions and copy .config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcu from the old profile to the newly created one, to restore recent documents and data bases.
