You can google "mailing list etiquette" to see some examples.

The main rules are:
- plaintext, not HTML mail
- no attachments
- wrap lines at 72 characters
- post replies inline, below the quote (bottom-posting)
- remove extraneous quoted matter, especially nested quotes
