That would be needed to try various fixes/workarounds You have i915 graphics. Are you using uxa? That could avoid some lockups. $ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection and are you using any window decoration other than default? I found that plastic can cause kwin crash rather regularly but it was not a lockup. Furthermore, in kwin settings, what opengl backend is configured? Does changing to a lower version help?
