Hi, there is currently a critical bug preventing from adding a printer
in the latest versions of cups: see FS#42666 [1].

To summarize, when trying to find a driver `foomatic list` stalls,
hogging up the CPU and `cupsd -l` does the same.

See the provided link for upstream bug report URL (they say they can't
reproduce it although it affects many Arch users) and link to discussion
in the forums.

I am currently unable to use any printer either :-/
