Did you do anything unusual when you updated to > filesystem 2014.07? The only thing I can think off is a system crash during an update a long time ago. I think I had to remove pacman's lockfile manually after the next reboot but had no other trouble with that. Is there a way to fix the ownerships of this directories/files? I can't find anything in pacman's manpage and Google didn't turn up with anything promising either.
