Readers,

An old portable computer has been installed with archlinux via a CD and was used successfully with ethernet cable internet connection. Now, cable connection is no longer available and it became necessary that various wireless software was not installed.

Firmware (ipw2100 for intel wireless pro) was copied from usb memory to a /usr/local/ directory.

After trying the command 'make', an error was reported that some wireless software (ieee802 I think?).

Are there a set of wireless functionality tools that can be downloaded to a usb flash memory device, then installed onto this old computer?
