Hi Ary, I tried using: # mkfs -t ext2 /dev/sda1 And got the same results. After a reboot, I tried: # mkfs -t ext3 /dev/sda3 And got a lot of messages about how there is a problem with the disk, so I am now suspecting that my hdd has gone bad, so I will need to wait on installing arch until I have a new drive. -----Original Message----- From: Ary Kleinerman [mailto:akleinerman@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, March 12, 2014 11:27 AM To: General Discussion about Arch Linux Subject: Re: talkingarch problems formatting partitions Have you tried with other filesystem type, to see what happens?
