I do "pacman -S vim" pretty quickly if there's any serious file tweaking to be 
done on install.  I'd be in favour of a more advanced "newby-friendly" editor, 
too, for people that don't know Vim.  Nano is pretty limited.  It does make 
sense to me to have several options available, since we depend on text editing 
so much for installation.
