This is no longer the case. Actually, if something with udev fails,
neither /dev/vg/lv nor /dev/mapper/vg-lv will exist, but only /dev/dm-N
with some arbitrary number N.

While LVM and udev still don't like each other, these problems have
mostly been fixed now.
