I updated ABS and have been building my own copy for the last couple
of months. I'm not familiar enough with Arch build systems to offer to
maintain it though - if it breaks it may take me a _long_ time to fix.

The build is quite straight forward, at least at present, just time
consuming (on my Lenovo T400 it takes around one and a half hours to
build.
