Ubuntu is unlikely to provide an official support for systemd in the mid-term
(i.e. in the next 2+ years): http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/1121. My
reading between the lines: "We have an enterprise branch (LTS) so can't afford
to come up with new things every 6 months (especially if upstart does
everything we want), while Fedora is designed exactly for this goal.". I think
that's a reasonable decision, especially now when they are picking up
consolekit.
