In ~4 years of using encrypted lvm, I never saw that /dev/lvmvol thing. I can't figure how you managed to create it and use it in your config(s). Usually is something like /dev/mapper/lvmgroup-lvmvolume. Are you sure that LVM was created corectly? Did the system ever boot fine?
