Right hi all thanks for the replies  it seems i have a a bit of a
hardware problem , It seems that for some reason Arch does not like my
Motherboard chipset  i did have it as an MSI but it is actually a
Foxconn A74ML-K . I have it working now but not using an SATA drive i
have found an old IDE job and installed on that to get back on line
there are still some odd bits giving grief but i can live with those
till i get a new mother board and drive  , Always had a lot of sucsess
with  A S Rock boards so see if i can find one to suit
