Today it's very common to write HTML and to answer above the original message. 1) It's "common" because most people do not use mailing lists and never used the usenet. They first used email post-2000 and never learned proper netiquette. That doesn't mean it's right. It just means these people are ignorant and keep behaving the way they want to after joining a mailing list - instead of following the established netiquette for such lists. 2) I hate to have to lecture you, but you need to learn proper quoting - reading your mails is painful. If your MTA doesn't do proper quoting, use a different one. 3) IMO, repeated failure to obey these rules should result in a ban from the list - this is not kindergarten, people should at least try to behave.
