Ext4 is an evolution of ext3 so recovering deleted files shouldn't be much different, on the other hand, day to day usage can benefit from using ext4 over ext3. Give testdisk a try, it might not be able to recover everything though, depending on what you've done to the fs after you deleted the files. -- Mauro Santos
