That's not really a solution now, is it? If he wanted to use catalyst he would not have installed the open source drivers...

Anyway, to answer the original message:
When asked to replace lib32-libgl with lib32-catalyst-utils (and to remove libgl), say "no" to both, it _should_ tell you what package wants the catalyst stuff and then you can either remove that or fix it.

Alternatively, run 'pacman -Qu' to see what packages would be updated. Look for lib32-* packages — one of them will depend on lib32-catalyst-utils.
