$BROWSER variable and Google Earth

Hi,
Google Earth can't recognise the $BROWSER environment variable. I've
set the one in my '~/.zshrc' as follows:
"
export BROWSER="/usr/bin/icecat"
"

When I try to open an external link I get the following error:
<http://www.imagebam.com/image/a79e8989327021>.
That Italian message means: "cannot start up a web browser. Check to
have set the $BROWSER environment variable to the web browser filename
you want to start up."

I don't know why.
