I doubt that will work. It worked for the old version of the nvidia
driver, because it included support for the ABI of the xorg-server 1.8
prerelease.

The legacy drivers have been released a long time ago, they certainly
won't support any 1.8 ABI, not even the prerelease one. IgnoreABI will
probably just lead to X server crashes.
