my Intel card (945) has flickering bugs with .32 as well as .33 . (Sure it is true they merged *some* fixes to .33...the fixes that existed so far...maybe they merged some fixes to the stable branch too?) There are no flickering bugs with non-KMS mode in .32 (except that Arch userspace doesn't support it anymore since upstream X intel drivers since 2.9.1 dropped support)
