I really like Qwit (available in AUR). It lives in the system tray, built 
with Qt4 goodness, works with multiple Twitter and Identi.ca accounts, tabs 
for search, inbox, home, public, favorites, etc... Seems to have all the 
features anyone could want and has worked flawlessly for me.
