Guys, I cannibalized a cool dark blue gradient kdm/xdm greeter theme for Arch from kubuntu (it's GPL). Works great. Just unzip the file (it has full path information to /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes). Then I just used kde systemsettings -> System -> login manager -> themes to select it and then log out and you should have it looking at you.
