The KDE part doesn't bother me... It's more the mysql. I do use Gnome, but having KDE as deps doesn't matter to me. It doesn't seem quite right that a photo management application (or a DE if you want to extrapolate to KDE) should require a RDBMS, even through an extended chain...?
