Ludovic,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been a bit swamped. In answer to your question:

ksnapshot -> save as to smb share works perfectly. I have 100's of screenshots saved that way.

ksnapshot -> "Open With" -> Gwenview -> "Save As" also works perfectly.

The issue seems to only be triggered by:

(1) ksnapshot
(2) Choose "Open with" -> Gwenview
(3) Crop the image, after pressing the final "crop", choose "File" -> "Save As"
(4) Save to a smb share

Because using anything other than Gwenview for cropping also works fine. Example:

ksnapshot -> "Open With" -> Gimp -> crop -> "Save As" also works perfectly.

Looks like it will just have to be resolved by: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=203109
