Do you have a udev rule for it?  Like:

SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", KERNEL=="sd*", ATTRS{idProduct}=="7421",
ATTRS{idVendor}=="0781", SYMLINK+="sansa", GROUP="storage"

The SYMLINK or GROUP could be something else.
