Tomcat 5.0.19 is a really antique (from 2004-08-28 and unsupported)
version of Tomcat (current is 6.0.32), you really should consider
upgrading. Additionally if you are using jk2 you ran into a dead fork of
mod_jk wich is even more unsupported. The current version of mod_jk is
1.2.31, download it. Consider downloading the source archive as it comes
with an excellent example configuration of workers.properties.

I'd bet mod_jk2 is the reason, it is dead for some years.
