Apachie to collect URL variables

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I'd like to send data via link in a HTML e-mail when a user clicks a link or
button in the email. The Link, rather URL would have some populated
variables see below for an example;

http://www.sitename.com/?userid=893&userresponse=yes&miscdata=347860475704
YES

Then when Apache receives this it will process the variables and put them
into a MYSQL DB. My thought is that I can use HTML e-mail to collect
information, and the use of Apache will handle the reception of the many
many expected connections in a short time frame as well as providing the
logging and other necessary support.

My question this this I simply would like to collect the information, I have
no need or desire to respond to the submitter, that is I don't want to send
a page to the user.

What say you? Possible? Comments; good bad and the ugly of this approach,
better ideas, other comments?

Thanks,
