Are you trying to say the definition in the manual is confusing, or
the term is confusing if you don't read the first sentence of the
"Virtual Hosts" topic in the users guide?

If they skipped to the examples without reading the "Virtual Hosts"
section in the users guide, and weren't familiar with any webservers,
they would be confused.

You can't throw a dart at an example and fault the documentation for
not rehashing the basics available in other topics.
