Chk the bottom of httpd.conf

U will find a line

#Include conf/extra/httpd-mpm.conf

Uncomment it and open the httpd-mpm.conf from conf/extras. I think you are running in windows (ServerRoot is a Windows like path. So just guesses). check for WINNT model in the file and change the settings there. If reallt using Unix, check prefork and worker model in the same file.

I am using apache 2.2.8(@ unix) as load balancer where backend are tomcat servers.

Tomcat provides different following properties in server.xml like

maxThreads="100" minSpareThreads="20" maxSpareThreads="50"

Is there any option to provide these type of properties in httpd.cof file for apache (in unix).
