Noah,

Perhaps you could attach the output to this thread and we can explain it to you then.

Frank.

ugh - this is confusing. Is there a sample out there of what needs to go where for an apache2 ubuntu installation.

Noah,

Start by looking at the output from apache2ctl -S, and make sure all your vhosts either use *:80 or *:443.

Of course, your NameVirtualHost must match that value.

Hi there,

I've googled this issue and still not able to Make sense of a cure. Also the error message does explain what is happening but nothing jumps out as to how to fix the problem.

"VirtualHost hostname1.com:0 overlaps with VirtualHost hostname2.com:0, the first has precedence, perhaps you need a NameVirtualHost directive"

Okay what do I do? where do I place the "NameVirtualHost directive" I have the "NameVirtualHost directive", a single line, at the in just about every file in the sites-available directory. What else do I need?

I am running apache 2 on an ubuntu machine.

Cheers,

Noah
