Set the following directive
RequestHeader append UNIQUE_ID %{UNIQUE_ID}e

It might be useful if you told us a bit about your environment, such as
which platform, which Apache, which Tomcat, how you connect one to the
other, etc..
Or do you really think we're so good that we can guess all of that ?
