make install fails on Solaris sun box

the configure and make work without a hitch but when I get to make
install I get the error below. if someone can explain what is going on
here and how I might correct it would be terrific.

make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `install-recursive'
Current working directory /svn/src/httpd-2.2.8/srclib
