I found the problem – the built in Linux firewall was blocking HTTP -  Thanks

Subject: Can not access Apache server from local network.

Hello –

I have installed Apache 2.2 on a Linux box on my home network (192.168.1.105).  When I open a browser on the Linux box and enter http://192.168.1.105 I get the expected “It Works” page.  However when I try to access the Web Server from another PC’s Browser (192.168.1.100) I get “Operation timed out”.  I can ping the Linux box from the PC and vice versa.  Have a I missed something in the Apache configuration that is preventing access ?

Thanks in Advance for any help.

Steve M
