Apache Server as cache proxy

Hi,
we need to use Apache to cache an RSS feed and some images/documents for a Portal with heavy traffic. What we have to do is to proxy some requests that reply with an XML (RSS) and we also need to cache some request for media resources (JPG, PDF, etc) reached through an address contained in the RSS.
An example:
The request "http://host/context/rss1"; return:

[...]

item1

    http://host/context/image.jpg

[...]

We have to cache every response of "context" (the XML and the image.jpg) with a expiration time of 2 hours.

Do you have address of tutorial or advanced configuration of this kind of service?

Thank you in advance
Best regards
Gio
